"Welcome to the LDSFilm.com message board."

LAST EDITED ON 19-Nov-04 AT 02:32 PM (MST)

Due to popular demand by this site's readership, particularly mailing list, we have created this message board. The purpose is to facilitate discussion of topics relating to both Latter-day Saints and film/television.

Anybody interested in these topics is welcome to register and post here.

LDSFilm.com has a broad affection for Latter-day Saint filmmakers of all types, from Lino Brocka to Gerald Lund. But posts that are off-topic (not related to Latter-day Saints and film) will probably be deleted. IP addresses that are the source of misuse will simply be blocked.

I was planning to go, but since I work in retail, the day after thanksgiving is like the worst time to take off to fly up to Utah to be able to see it. So, I won't be seeing it opening night, but maybe the following week or something. It's really hard when you have to fly across the country to see a movie lol.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it. I think I'll have to read teh first book again before I see it. I have a habit of reading a book, adapting in to a movie in my mind, and then going to see how the "pros" did in their adaptations. It's been a good formula for me to use to see where I fall short, or not.

Also I want to say thanks for putting up this board as well.

I subscribed to the ldsscripts.com site, but I'm a lone ranger over there.

If I could make a suggestion or two, perhaps we could have a sub-category on the forum for "Screenwriting" or "Directing" and maybe "Acting" as well as a sub-category for "Calls for Action!" or "Role Calls" for info on openings/screenings/shoot locations, etc.

Anywho, nice to meet all of you and please don't hesitate to PM me as I would love to work/meet anyone who shares my values and has similar goals.

Since the "Edit" feature isn't working:

EDIT: I also love reading/critiqueing screenplays and giving feedback for what it's worth so if you have ideas/scripts that you would like to bounce around, please do so.

Hello I'm seeking to locate Fergus MacLeod, Originally of Horndean in Hampshire, UK, Brother of Hamish, Son of Mrs Jess MacLeod. About 30 years since we last spoke but I recently stumbled across a mention of Him in Dir. Ryan Little's film 'The Last Good War' and realise this is a long lost childhood friend. Please pass this onto Fergus if anyone knows him?
Thank you ~ Philip / www.studioaka.co.uk

Hello. I am new to this board. My husband & I are trying very hard to find out the name of a church-produced movie that we saw quite some time ago. It was about a missionary who was on his was home and he was talking to a man who was sitting next to him on the plane. this man was discouraged because he had to give up a promising basketball career due to a severe knee injury and the missionary was telling him of the difficult times that he and his companion had trying to get this farmer to allow them to speak with him. They kept going back over & over helping the farmer with chores and other things utnil he finally agreed to listen to them. The movie ends with the missionary and the basketball player exchanging contact information in the airport and the player agreeing to listen to lessons. Would you or anyone elso happen to know the name of this movie ? It is one of our favorites and we are driving ourselves nuts trying to remember the name of this particular movie. Any help or seggestions you might be able to send my way would be GREATLY appreciated. My e-mail address is anamariedoan@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help in this matter.

Anamarie C. Doan
