Steve Gibby: Biographical Sketch

Since 1981 Steve has contributed as a producer, director, editor, and cameraman to over 700 national and international television programs that aired on NBC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN International, FOX Sports Net, UPN, WB, A&E, Discovery, OLN, America One, Comcast, Speed Channel, RFD, and Prime Sports Network. He has produced extensively in the subject areas of action sports, adventure travel, music, and lifestyle. Mr. Gibby directed the award-winning ESPN series "Hawaiian Sports Adventure" for the 1996 and 1997 seasons. His work has taken him to every continent except Antarctica! He has produced and directed productions in such unusual locations as China, India, South Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Alaska, Switzerland, and Australia. His travel has taken him to over sixty countries. He has produced widely for international departments of tourism and resort/hotel chains. He has also produced and directed award-winning corporate videos, web sites, and commercial spots for multiple industries. Corporate clients have included Microsoft, Hawaii Visitors Bureau, Primedia, Home Depot, MC2, On Broadway Event Center, Convention Photo, and Clarks Shoes.

Mr. Gibby has garnered a substantial list of national and international awards for his unique and complicated television productions. He has won or shared in three Emmy awards (Regional), nine Telly awards, fourteen Aegis awards, four Videographer awards, six Communicator awards, three Aurora awards, and a Pepsi/MTV award. He is profiled prominently in Who's Who in the West and also Who's Who in Media and Communications. He has also won several awards for his Internet web site production in the past five years. He is a current member of the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Pacific Southwest Region. NATAS is the entity that awards the renowned Emmy awards. Mr. Gibby has recently served as a judge for various regional Emmy Awards.

From 1982 to 1987, while studying television production and acting in Los Angeles, Steve worked internationally as an actor and print ad model. He has appeared on daytime television and many commercials. International and national magazine ads featuring him included Mercedes Benz, Sheraton, Bridgestone, Magnavox, Pendleton, San Diego Chargers, Dodge, Toyota, AMF Voit, and many others. Work in front of the camera gave Mr. Gibby unique insight into his work behind the camera, and vice versa.

Mr. Gibby's skills and experience are varied. For television they include executive producer, producer, line producer, director, editor, scriptwriter, and cameraman. Expert handheld, tripod, and point-of-view (POV) camerawork are his trademark. For Web production his skills include executive producer, creative direction, project management, videography, and management of site construction. This includes producing webcasts, live and delayed.

Mr. Gibby is currently serving as a Founder and President of Cut4 Media Group, a California Central Coast based company. Cut4 Media Group is a full-service production, marketing, and syndication firm servicing the television, video, Internet, and disc industries.

In the Internet arena, Steve has served as Vice President of Production and Executive Producer for LevelRed Inc., a youth lifestyle media aggregator. He produced the dynamic LevelRed web site and all it's content: several webcasts (live and delayed) and extensive custom streaming video. Several awards were received for videos he produced at LevelRed. Previous to that he served as Executive Producer for B2B Silicon Valley startup eMuzed Inc. He produced Telly award winning music videos for eMuzed, while creating and staffing the entire production department. Before working with eMuzed Mr. Gibby served as Web Executive Producer, a major sponsor, and PR Director for a professional sports tour (PSTA), including producing the tour web site, coordinating all media coverage, title sponsor for the 1999 championship event, and writing all press releases.

Mr. Gibby received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University in 1981. He also completed an advanced television production curriculum at Saddleback College. He has completed over 200 semester units of college work, including 60 units of business courses.
